I beg to disagree on the assumption that politics is not mentioned in the Bible. It is -- and both in the Old and new testament. Thus we have the anointment of kings in the old testament, and we have some notes in the Proverbs with regards governance. In the New Testament, we have also the story of Rome and Pontious Pilate as well as Jesus Christ answering "Give to Ceasar what is Ceasar's and to God what is God's" when asked about tithes and taxes -- a line which can also refer to the idea that politics should not be mixed with religion.

But I agree with you on the idea of having a variety of choices. The world does not exist on day and night, nor black and white. We have dusk and twilight, we have the colors of the rainbbow, etc., etc. So why not allow multiple parties to join and field their own candidates for president? I think the US constitution does not ban having more than five candidates. And, to get the majority votes cast, why not institute the run-off system? The primary system is not a run-off system and it does not give us anything but character assassinations and not concrete stand on issues.
