America –The Modern Day Nineveh: God’s Judgment Awaits You

Please understand I would not write this if I were not extremely “burdened” with its message.  This message is graphic and the words from the Word of God are what they are.  I cannot censor what God chose to have written by His prophets.  He deliberately portrays things as He does for the purpose of gaining the attention of the reader.  If offended by His words, please complain to Him.

Awake oh citizens of this once great country.  Awake and see the destruction of the foundation upon which your greatness was built.  Honesty, truth and hard work made you great.  Corruption, lies and greed are your downfall.  Compassionate care for your neighbor enabled you to become the most prosperous nation on earth.  Selfishness and covetousness has led to your complete annihilation. 

America, please listen to a prophecy once written for another great place which was once greatly esteemed.  The great city of Nineveh was once the capital of world commerce and one of the wealthiest places to ever exist.  They turned away from following the one true God and were sent the prophet Jonah to bring them to repentance.  They listened to him and turned from their wicked ways and returned to the one true God.  They were blessed by God and prospered again until they once again turned their backs for good on the God who had given them all they enjoyed.

This time there was no turning around for Nineveh.  They were not interested in repenting for they believed they had nothing to repent of.  In their pride and arrogance, they dismissed the words of God and cursed His prophets.  They believed they needed no God to be blessed; they could do just fine on their own, thank you.

God inspired the prophet Nahum to write of what was to become of this once great city as a warning for future civilizations of what will happen to them if they turn away from following the one true God.  There is nowhere else in God’s Word that more aptly describes the condition of the United States of America in 2008 than the book of Nahum.  Warning, this is not pleasant to read, but it is still the truth of God’s Word.

Reading from the New King James Version, please look at the incredible chapter three of Nahum:

“Woe to the bloody city!  It is all full of lies and robbery.  Its victim never departs.

The noise of a whip and noise of rattling wheels, of galloping horses, of clattering chariots!

Horsemen charge with bright sword and glittering spear.  There is a multitude of slain, a great number of bodies, countless corpses—they stumble over the corpses—

Because of the multitude of harlotries (spiritual unfaithfulness) of the seductive harlot, the mistress of sorceries, who sells nations through her harlotries, and families through her sorceries.

‘Behold, I am against you,’ says the Lord of hosts; I will lift your skirts over your face, I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame.

I will cast abominable filth upon you, Make you vile (despicable), and make you a spectacle.

It will come to pass that all who look upon you will flee from you and say, ‘Nineveh is laid waste! Who will bemoan her? Where shall I seek comforters for you?’

Are you better than No-Amon (Alexandria, Egypt) that was situated by the River (Nile) that had the waters around her, whose rampart was the sea, whose wall was the sea?

Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was boundless; Put and Lubim were your helpers,

Yet she was carried away, she went into captivity; her young children also were dashed to pieces at the head of every street; they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

You also will be drunk; you will be hidden; you also will seek refuge from the enemy.

All your strongholds are fig trees with ripened figs; if they are shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.

Surely your people in your midst are women! The gates of your land are wide open for your enemies; fire shall devour the bars of your gates.

Draw your water for the siege! Fortify your strongholds! Go into the clay and tread the mortar! Make strong the brick kiln!

There the fire will devour you, the sword will cut you off; it will eat you up like a locust.  Make yourself many—like the locust! Make yourself many—like swarming locusts!

You have multiplied your merchants more than the stars of heaven.  The locust plunders and flies away.

Your commanders are like swarming locusts, and your generals like great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges on a cold day; when the sun rises they flee away, and the place where they are is not known.

Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; Your nobles rest in the dust.  Your people are scattered on the mountains, and no one gathers them.

Your injury has no healing, your wound is severe.  All who hear news of you will clap their hands over you, for upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?”

Fellow Americans and fellow believers; awake and see what is happening around you even as you read this.  The United States of America has fallen into the same trap as every other great nation.  Greed, selfishness, wickedness, immorality, corruption, pride and arrogance control the very heart and soul of America.  God has been forced out of our borders and our borders have been opened to people with every possible foreign god known to man.  The influx of foreign idols has corrupted the gospel in this country to the point it no longer bears any resemblance to God’s true gospel.

The hardest phrase in the Bible was found in verse 5 when God said; “I AM AGAINST YOU.”  Ladies and Gentlemen, we do not want God against Us.  That is NOT GOOD.  Nahum begins with a stunning description of our Sovereign and Almighty God.  May we take these words to heart and as a remnant fall on our knees and repent and pray that He gives us, as a nation, one more chance to come back to Him before it is too late. 

“The burden against Nineveh.  The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; The Lord avenges and is furious.  The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies.

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all aquit the wicked.  The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers.  Bashan and Carmel wither, and the flower of Lebanon wilts.

The mountains quake before Him, the hills melt, and the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it.

Who can stand before His indignation?  And who can endure the fierceness of His anger?  His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

But with an overflowing flood He will make an utter end of its place, and darkness will pursue His enemies.

What do you conspire against the Lord?  He will make an utter end of it.  Affliction will not rise up a second time.

For while tangled like thorns, and while drunken like drunkards, they shall be devoured like stubble fully dried.

From you comes forth one who plots evil against the Lord, a wicked counselor.

Thus says the Lord:  “Though they are safe (at peace) and likewise many, yet in this manner they will be cut down when He passes through.  Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.

For now I will break off his yoke from you (Judah) and burst your bonds apart.”

The Lord has given a command concerning you (Nineveh):  Your name shall be perpetuated no longer.  Out of the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the molded image.  I will dig your grave, For you are vile (contemptible).

Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good tidings, who proclaims peace!  O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, perform your vows.  For the wicked one (one of Belial) shall no more pass through you; He is utterly cut off.”

America is not some special child to God who is immune from His wrath.  America is teetering on the verge of collapse.  Every headline is heralding the end of the age of prosperity that turned this once great land into a ravenous money loving monster.  The crime, corruption and filth that define those entrusted with the leadership of this country has led America down the hill to moral depravity.  The watered down excuse for the gospel spoken with shame by those ordained to speak the truth is nothing  but a counterfeit and many times straight from the pit of hell.

God will personally dig the grave for America as He has done for many other great countries in the past.  I fear the day of reckoning is quickly approaching for the United States of America.  I hear the hooves of approaching horses as those appointed by God to destroy this county grow ever nearer.  While 99% of all Americans rest on their laurels, oblivious to what is coming, the 1% of us who hear the approaching hooves MUST sound the alarm and shout from the rooftops the truth, whether anyone listens or not.

Our dollar is the laughingstock of the world.  Our military is no longer respected.  Our leaders are found guilty of corruption and deception and our products are second rate.  While millions sit at home enjoying the “American Dream”, their neighbor is being forcibly evicted from their home due to the ongoing mortgage crisis.  While those still privileged to have medical insurance spend half their life seeing various specialists and having needless tests done; millions cannot even get a cavity filled in their mouth because no Dentist will offer them care they can afford.

The culture and society of America is rotten to the core.  Everywhere one looks, purity has been replaced with corruption and goodness with evil.  Billions upon billions of dollars are wasted on entertainment while people are too numb to help their next door neighbor find their next meal.  Have you not noticed, America, that the rest of the world has finally awakened to see that you are NOT who claimed to be for so long.  That you are NOT the beacon of light showing the way any longer.  That you are NOT the land of the free and the home of the brave.

No, America, you are now the land of the financially enslaved and the home of the cowards who dare not rise up and fight for a country that once WAS the greatest country on earth.  No, America, you have been seduced and have forsaken the Lord your God and run after the harlots of power and greed.  You have sold your soul to those who gave you the pleasures of sin for a season at the expense of your honor and dignity.  You, America, have been caught in the deceit of your own lies and hypocrisy.  You, America, are no better than the soon to be former Governor of the state of New York.

One Day -Two Bombshells: What Has This Country Come To?

We live in a society that daily spirals further and further downhill.  It seems with each new “crisis of ethics”, the collective conscience of America becomes more and more hardened and incapable of responding with any degree of righteousness.  The current situation in New York should, but won’t, send a wakeup call across America that those entrusted with being their leaders are morally bankrupt and unworthy of support.

It is truly astounding to me that there are millions of people saying what the Governor of New was caught doing should not be consider illegal or immoral.  Calls for the legalization of “his crimes” are being made by the minute all across the land.  Cries for “tolerance” and “forgiveness” are being raised by the very same people who would gladly crucify someone of the other political party for far lesser evils.  In every aspect of the current situation in New York it provides a text book example for hypocrisy.

Once again, if people would just allow the Bible to speak for itself, there would be ample proof that what is going on is indicative of the demise of this nation.  Those still waiting for some political turn around will be waiting a long time.  Far too many huge sections of this country are manipulated and totally governed by the lies and wickedness of people the devil has gotten elected through deceiving the people into electing them.

I believe God as ordained all this corruption to be prevalent now because the end is near.  What else are we to believe?  There is no changing the direction this country is heading in.  The course has been set and all the fervent prayers of all the Christians in this country are not going to change the destination.   The moral backbone of this country is broken and a country cannot stand with a broken moral back.

The Center for Disease Control announced today that one out of every four teenage girls in this country has an active STD case.  One out of every two black teenage girls has a STD.   As much as the insane situation in New York infuriates me, this bombshell from the CDC today is devastating.  The repercussions from this announcement will ring loud and clear for quite some time.   The moral decay in this country has gotten down to the teenage level and now the inevitable consequences are appearing.

In both of the above mentioned items, the overwhelming reaction from people is “oh well, what does it have to do with me”.  The apathy in this country is beyond description.  I guarantee you that far more people in this country were rejoicing because the stock market went up over 400 points than were aroused to anger or alarm over either the New York or CDC announcement.  Americans have turned into a selfish and apathetic lot for sure.

What can Christians do about either of these situations?  Very little regarding the New York one, unless living there.  We have established that Christians should not be puritans but by the same token we have a right to cry out when ethics are breeched and what is left of any morality in this country is tossed in the trash.  It is time for the millions of silent Christians to at least let the opposition know we are still here and are repulsed by the flagrant abuse of authority and hypocrisy being manifested by one after another elected official and others in positions of leadership.

As far as the CDC situation, Christians better lift their heads out of sand long enough to see what is going on in their schools and the parties their teenage daughters go to.  I shudder to think of what is happening even right now as millions of unsupervised teenagers are on or going on spring break.   The answer is not to impose some legalistic law, for it never works.  Christian parents need to take the time to work with their children, especially teenage girls and instruct them on WHY they are to “say no” instead of threatening them or laying down laws that are bound to be broken.

I would not want to be a teenager going to a public school having made a “chastity vow”.  The peer pressure is overwhelming and the temptations are everywhere.  That is why home schooling cannot be allowed to be killed off by the decision in California last week.  Our children need somewhere to be educated away from the pure evil that occupies many inner city public schools.  Everywhere and on all fronts the enemy is attacking.  His greatest joy comes when Christians do nothing but complain.  Apathy is one of his greatest weapons.

With each new horrible thing that unfolds in this country, my respect for groups such as the Amish grows stronger.  Although I take issue with their “forced legalism”, I highly respect the fact that they have kept their culture and their beliefs in spite of public ridicule, scorn and gawking.  Many of these groups are simply trying to lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty.  I find nothing wrong with such a noble idea, especially in light of the bombshells dropped in the past day.
