There is perhaps nothing any worse in this life than waking up one morning and realizing your whole life is a lie.  A person can fool just about everybody for a long time, but sooner or later, that person has to confront the “guy in the glass”.  There is something about taking a few extra moments and really looking at that image you see when looking in the mirror.  Instead of seeing the hair all a muss or the teeth that are too yellow; look that person in the mirror in the eyes and take note of what he says.

There are very few people in this world so brazen and callused as to be able to keep up a façade for a lifetime.  The vast majority of amateur “actors” usually crumble when the pressure starts to mount.  The thing about telling a lie is that you must always remember that lie or you will contradict yourself.  Most people can’t remember yesterday’s meals, so how can they remember details of a cleverly woven tall tale?  Even if they could, the guy in the glass knows the truth.

Not too many years ago we had a great Olympic champion in this country.  She won five medals at the Olympics in Sydney in 2000.  Marion Jones seemed to be a true American champion until performance enhancing drugs entered the picture.  When first questioned about them, she vehemently denied using them.  As the plot thickened and the noose tightened, she still adamantly refused to admit any use.  Finally after a thorough investigation, it was determined she did indeed use the banned drugs.  Because she lied during the investigation; she was guilty of committing a crime and is currently in prison.  Last October she voluntarily gave back the medals she had won seven years earlier.

This truly sad story, is repeated over and over again not only in the athletic realm but also the business, political and religious ones also.  A “superstar” is confronted regarding a situation.  The inevitable response is always one of “that’s crazy” or “I did no such thing” or other forms of absolute denial.  Whether money laundering schemes, drug use or distribution, gambling, sexual escapades, fraud, extortion or cover-ups; those accused will ALWAYS initially vehemently deny their involvement.

 We once had a President in this country who succeeded in dragging this country though years of anguish and turmoil all because of his ever increasing web of lies and deception.  Richard Nixon is a text book example of what a powerful person does when his house of cards starts to fall down.  Cover-ups rarely work for any length of time.  Although initially very beneficial to the accused, investigative reporters and detectives usually manage to track down the truth and when it ultimately surfaces, the whole façade comes crashing down.

There seems to be a principle at work that the more powerful a person is, the more adept they become at circumventing the truth.  Perhaps it is because of the multitude of counselors the powerful surround themselves with or maybe just their domineering and intimidating personality; either way, powerful people feel entitled to living as they please, breaking all the rules and using elaborate schemes and cover-ups to hide the truth of their activities from prying eyes.

If it were not so serious, the current political tennis match between Bill Clinton and Obama would be amusing.  It is not funny because we have a former president running around without a leash, who is doing what he always was very good at—twisting the facts to suit his needs.  Every time that man gets up and starts “preaching” about the character flaws and other problems of his wife’s opponent, I cannot help seeing the images of the same man boldly telling the American people “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”. 

Once a person has been convicted of being a professional liar, it is awfully hard to believe a word they have to say.  It took many years for Richard Nixon to regain even a small amount of the stature he willingly gave up to protect his elaborate web of deceit.  It should have been the same for Bill Clinton, but then again Bill Clinton never has played by the rules.  Somehow he expects us all to now believe he is telling the truth?  I don’t think so Bill.

I once knew a man who was so obsessed with winning that rules were routinely broken and people were used ruthlessly to further his personal agenda.  I remember playing golf with the man and watching him pick up his golf ball and throw it into a better position.  The same guy would take 6 strokes to get the ball in the hole and write down that it took 4.  He would cheat at every game he played because he HAD to win.  Those who chronically lie and cheat are usually obsessed with power, prestige or the uncontrollable lust to be number one.

Salespeople and politicians make their living being professional liars.  They have perfected the art of stretching the truth to the point where what is left cannot even be considered “half truths”.  Many times these professionals spend years drawing up intricate plans of deception that cannot be uncovered by even the best detective.  Once their carefully crafted lie is perfected, they start the process of “selling” people that it is really the truth.  There is absolutely no better example of this than the current “global warming” or “climate change” craze.

Those who have fabricated this ridiculous myth spent years developing it and backing it up with what appears to be true science, but in reality is nothing but speculation and computer projections.  Facts mean nothing to those people who are intent on making a lie appear to be the truth.  As in most grandeur lies, there has to be elements of truth to build the lie upon.  That is exactly what has happened with “global warming”.  Selective data was used to build a concept that cannot be proven, yet to its adherents, is already a proven reality.

Members of the PLA (Professional Liars Association) are excellent at what they do.  They are every bit as much a professional as someone playing golf on the PGA tour.  Professional liars are not to be taken lightly.  They have been trained and practiced their profession to the point they rarely can be beaten.  They use intimidation to get others to stick with them and use polished tactics to communicate their error.  PLA members should be looked upon as extremely dangerous and NEVER to be trusted.

PLA people have no conscience.  What was once considered a conscience has been seared with a hot iron and is now so hard and callused; there is nothing left of the original.  Once the conscience is seared, there remains no moral compass to direct and steer a person to the real truth.  For, once the conscience is seared—the lie has become the truth.  The sad reality in today’s culture is that what most people consider truth in EVERY realm, is nothing but carefully crafted deceitful lies. 

Some of us who cling to the Bible as the only source of truth take great offence at the insanity running rampant in this world under the guise of truth.  Those of us who know what the Bible says and believe it to be God’s Word, face a very troubling and lonely future.  For, the “thought police” are actively at work enforcing new doctrines and rules that must be believed as true or face stiff consequences.  Those not willing to bow, will surely burn in the fiery furnace of heresy.

Every day it is becoming more and more difficult to stand one’s ground morally concerning things that are true versus the strong delusion that has overspread the world and Christianity under the pretense of truth.  Every day those who stand fast on what the Bible says are rejected and scoffed at and soon to be persecuted.  Regardless of which candidate wins the fraudulent election in November; the United States of America will never be the same again.

“Progressives” rule this country and world and there is nothing conservative Christians can do about it.  Romans ruled the world in Jesus’ and Paul’s day.  They did not advocate trying to politically or militarily change the system.  To the contrary, Jesus said to render unto to Caesar the things that belong to him and render unto God the things that belong to Him.  Our purpose in life as Christians is to pray for those in authority THAT we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty.  NOWHERE are there any instructions given in the New Testament to try and change the world politically.  That is God’s job, not ours.

Our efforts as Christians should be directed at providing individual help to individual people who are hurting and want out of the system of unbelief in which they are trapped.  Christians are not here to “change the world”, we here to live the Gospel and lovingly share it with those who have never heard or believed it.  Christians waste so much of their time trying to impose “reforms” on a society that has long ago made decisions that render it uninterested.  Instead of wasting time trying to “save the world” from itself; Christians need to start thinking about the inevitable tribulation and persecution coming upon them.

Listen, I didn’t write the Bible.  Jesus spoke specifically as to what to expect in the last days in Matthew 24.  Whether Christians get a magic carpet ride out of here before any of the things take place Jesus spoke of or not; there must be some degree of persecution coming or why did he flat out tell his disciples that they would all die martyrs deaths?  Why do Christians today think their fate should be so much better and nicer than that suffered by our spiritual ancestors?  It is because Christians today are stone cold scared to death of persecution, rejection and death.

That’s right, fellow cowards of the faith.  Modern day “Christianity” is so watered down and full of the devil’s gospel of peace and prosperity that the idea of having to suffer for our faith is dismissed as error.  It is much easier to condemn someone suffering massive tribulation or pressure in their lives as being “weak in the faith” or “not tithing enough” then to call a spade a spade and say it is because there is an enemy and he hates true Christians and will do everything in his vast power to steal, kill and destroy them.

Dishonesty reigns from the halls of Congress to the mega-churches throughout this country.  Evil and corrupt people have so been conditioned and have so practiced error that the lie is now the truth and the truth is now the lie.  I will gladly stake my life, my honor and my family on the TRUTH that capitalism was and is the greatest tool the devil ever developed to destroy the true Church.  The true God never had a thing to do with the god of the United States of America.  That’s right, the god who rules this once great land is the greedy and selfish and arrogant god of capitalism. 

All the prayers from all the believers in this country are not going to drive out the god which rules it.  All the prayers of all the First Century believers never stopped the persecution inflicted upon them by the Roman Empire.  In fact, there is no mention of even praying for persecution to cease.  Pray for the persecuted, yes; pray for it to stop; no.  Persecution and suffering used to be the badge of honor worn proudly by Christians.  Now these things are looked upon as a sign of weakness.   The new badges worn by most Christians are pictures of their mansions and keys to their restrooms with $25,000 gold plated toilets.
